On behalf of Team Kids and our Public Safety Partners, we applaud the students and families of Deerfield Elementary for taking action on four critical community issues…
• Hunger
Goal: Fill 4 barrels
Outcome: Filled 4 barrels+ of food to feed struggling families through Families Forward
Estimated Value: $1,500.00
• Homelessness
Goal: Collect 1 large vanload (stuffed! From floor to ceiling!)
Outcome: 1 large vanload of clothing and toys for The Southwest Community Center to help other families in need
Estimated Value: $2,000
• Protecting Animals
Goal: Collect pet food, pet toys and gently used blankets or towels
Outcome: 1 vanload of various pet items to help protect animals at the Irvine Animal Shelter
Estimated Value: $1,000
• Empowering Youth to Protect Animals
Goal: Conduct a school wide carnival and donate 100% of the proceeds to ASPCA
Outcome: Fifth and sixth graders on the Team Kids Leadership Team held a great carnival!
Value: $1,312.60 was raised for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
Principal Kathy McKeown met the Principal’s Challenge Goal at the Carnival too!
Deerfield Elementary students raised cash and donated goods with a total value of $5,612.60 to benefit other children and families in need.
