On behalf of Team Kids and our Public Safety Partners,
we would like to applaud the students and families of Harbor View
for taking action on five critical community issues…
• Hunger
Goal: Fill 3 barrels
Outcome: Filled 6 barrels of food to feed struggling families through Second Harvest Food Bank
Estimated Value: $2250
• Homelessness
Goal: Collect one vanload
Outcome: Filled one large passenger van with gently used clothing and toys for Southwest Community Center to help other families in need
Estimated Value: $2000
• Environment
Goal: Collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans
Outcome: Items recycled to support Pacific Marine Mammal Center and protect marine animals
Estimated Value: $70
• Literacy
Goal: Fill 6 boxes with books
Outcome: 600 gently used books donated to the Early Literacy Project
Estimated Value: $600
• St Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Goal: Conduct a school wide carnival and donate 100% of the proceeds to St. Jude to support pediatric cancer research
Outcome: We had a great carnival, planned and run by KIDS
Value: $1740.71 was raised for the carnival
Harbor View students contributed a total value of
$6,660.71
to benefit others in need!
More importantly, students learned the power they have to make a difference for other children and families in need.
Harbor View kids are amazing!
