TK Challenge at Meadow Park Huge Success!
On behalf of Team Kids and our Public Safety Partners, we applaud the students and families of Meadow Park for taking action on four critical community issues
• Hunger
Goal: Fill 4 barrels
Outcome: Filled 5 barrels of food to feed struggling families through Families Forward
Estimated Value: $1,875
• Homelessness
Goal: Collect one vanload
Outcome: One vanload of clothes, books, and toys for Santa Ana’s Southwest Community Center to help other families in need
Estimated Value: $2,000
• Environment
Goal: Collect 10 bags of recyclables
Outcome: Over 30 bags of recyclables, strengthening Meadow Park’s efforts to protect the environment, with proceeds going to support the Irvine Animal Shelter
Estimated Value: $75
• Disaster Relief
Goal: Conduct a school wide carnival on April 1, 2010, and donate 100% of the proceeds to Red Cross Earthquake Relief efforts in Haiti
Outcome: $865.75 in carnival ticket sales to support Haiti Red Cross relief
Princpal Livernois meet the Principal’s Challenge too…She dressed up like a chick and did the Chicken Dance at the Carnival!
Meadow Park students raised cash and donated goods with a total value of
$4,815.75 to benefit other children and families in need!
Even more importantly, students learned the power they have to make a difference.
