Kids Work Hard to Help Others - by Maddie Allenspach
Over the course of three weeks Meadow Park students donated clothing, games, food and money to help a variety of people in need through their participation in the Kids Helping Kids program. Julie Hudash, program director of Kids Helping Kids, founded the program so kids could be helpful in their community. Kids are encouraged to help others, and the program proves that kids can do anything if they put their mind to it.

Students donated clothes, toys and books to the Southwest Community Center in Santa Ana during the week of February 16-20. Many families were able to put food on their tables thanks to our February 23-27 food drive for Families Forward. On March 5, our bake sale raised more than $400 for Race for the Cure. Meadow Park’s leadership team set up booths and sold snow cones, jewelry, cookies and more to raise money for women with breast cancer. Meadow Park became involved with Kids Helping Kids back in November when students helped collect toys for children for the holidays. Kids can do anything if they believe in themselves!
