Team Kids
Challenge: Through this ongoing K-8
service learning and youth leadership program,
students work in teams of peers and role
models—firefighters, police, mentors from the
community and high school and college interns.
They collect toys, books, clothes, food and
other supplies to be donated to local service
agencies and organize a school-wide carnival to
raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
Stewards of the Earth: Team Kids has partnered with Stewards of the Earth to create the Animals and Environmental Task Force. The purpose of the task force is to empower youth to proactively exercise a stewardship towards the earth, and to connect with, and educate their community.
Team Kids Youth Council (TKYC): The majority of the members of this founding TKYC have participated in Team Kids since they were in elementary school. The TKYC oversees the planning and implementation of youth events and members take turns serving on Team Kids Board of Directors.
