On behalf of Team Kids and our Public Safety Partners, we are excited to celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary of the Team Kids Challenge at Santiago Hills Elementary!
Kickoff Assembly: Friday, January 7th (9:00-11:15am)
Carnival: Friday, February 4th (during lunch)
*The School-wide Carnival is created and run by the 5th and 6th graders who volunteer their lunch recess once a week to be on the Leadership Team*
Below is an outline of our 4 weekly challenges at Santiago Hills!
WEEK 1: HUNGER
Goal 1: Collect over 3 Barrels of food to donate to families in need!
Beneficiary: Families Forward
Congratulations on completing Week 1 of the Team Kids Challenge! You have met the goal of filling 3 barrels with food for the hungry! Families Forward representatives are thrilled that you brought in so much food! Your donations will help feed the 80,000 families here in Orange County that come to the Families Forward Food Bank every month.
WEEK 2: RESPECT
Goal: Sign a Pledge of Respect! Our goal is for the entire school to make a pledge of respect to either a place, thing or person! (yourself or others). How will you show your respect?
Beneficiary: EVERYONE!
WEEK 3: HOMELESSNESS
Goal: Bring in your gently used cold weather clothing for kids and families in need! (Hats, scarves, coats, etc)
Beneficiary: Southwest Community Center
WEEK 4: CARNIVAL, Friday, February 4th
Goal: Conduct a school-wide carnival; donate 100% of the proceeds to beneficiary charity.
Beneficiary: To be determined by the Team Kids Leadership Team
*All students in the 5th and 6th grade are invited to serve on the Team Kids Leadership Team. The Leadership Team will meet MONDAYS during lunch with the Team Kids Staff and Volunteers to plan the school-wide Carnival.*
