2009TK Challenge at Springbrook Elementary School a Huge Success!
Team Kids staff and our Public Safety Partners applaud the students and families of Springbrook for taking action on four critical community issues through the Team Kids Challenge in November and December, 2009.
• Hunger $1750
Outcome: Filled 14 barrels of food to feed struggling families served by Human Options
• Homelessness $5000
Outcome: Collected 2.5 vanload of clothing, books and toys for Southwest Community Center, to help other families in need
• Environment $70
Outcome: Collected 8 large trash bags filled with plastic water bottles and aluminum cans to benefit the Pacific Marine Mammal Center
• Animal Protection
Outcome: $532.40 was raised during a school wide carnival on December 16, 2009. 100% of the proceeds are being donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Principal Curley met the Principal’s Challenge when he did the Macarena at a school-wide assembly!
Thanks to all the fifth and sixth graders who volunteered to serve on the Team Kids Leadership Team. And congratulations to the entire school on a great month of service. Springbrook kids are amazing!
