On behalf of Team Kids and our Public Safety Partners, we applaud the students and families of Vista Verde for taking action on four critical community issues…
• Hunger
Collected 5 barrels of food to feed struggling families through Families Forward, with help from Girl Scout Troop 564
Estimated Value: $1,875
• Homelessness
Filled 1 large passenger van with gently used clothing for the homeless and working poor through Southwest Community Center
Estimated Value: $2000
• Environment
Collected 50 large bags of recyclables, with help from the Vista Verde Green Team, to support International Bird Rescue Research Center’s efforts to protect birds and their environment
Estimated Value: $134.69
• Animal Protection
$1,155.05 was raised through a school wide carnival, conducted by volunteers in 6th 7th and 8th grade on the TK Leadership Team. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Irvine Animal Shelter
Value: Priceless
• Dr. Mylen meet the Principal’s Challenge Goal at the Carnival too!
Vista Verde students raised cash and donated goods with a total value of $5,164.74 to benefit other children and families in need!
Most importantly, students learned the power they have to make a difference.
