The Heideman Road Runners became Team Kids pioneers today as they hosted the first Team Kids Carnival in the City of Tustin, CA! Students were inspired by their heroes from Tustin Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority and they brought 500 pairs of shoes for the homeless, wrote 250 letters for our troops, collected blankets for the animals and raised $440 at their carnival for the Pet Rescue Center. TPD Officer brought his K-9 partner Bravo to congratulate the kids for helping the animals! Congratulations kids, you have inspired us all! And KCAL 9-CBS2 came out to catch a story for news tonight!
So proud of the Team Kids Leadership Team at Bonita Canyon! Check out their list of charities they nominated to vote on next week. We have some great entrepreneurs in the room preparing for their carnival, where they will then become philanthropists and give 100% of it to the charity of their choice!
Thank you Tustin Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority for your incredible partnership on our FIRST Team Kids Challenge Launch in Tustin, CA at Robert P Heideman Elementary School. Our public safety partners are once again on the front line inspiring all the students as enthusiastic community leaders eager to work to play a positive role in the community. Thank you for being such positive role models for the children in Tustin, California and for a phenomenal kickoff assembly!
Excited to share the news coverage from the Team Kids Carnival at JAmestown Elementary. Thank you ABC 7 News – WJLA for the wonderful coverage of Arlington Public Schools compassionate leaders, and the great role models from The Arlington County Police Department and Arlington County Fire Department who inspired them to serve their community. The privilege was ours to be part of such a dynamic and collaborative team.
All four carnivals in Arlington, VA were incredible in their own right! There were so many amazing partners that helped make these 4 pilot programs a success across the country from our headquarters, however, the KIDS were the true rock stars. They not only learned how to be entrepreneurs while hosting their carnival games, they learned how to be philanthropists as 100% of the funds they raised this week will go to their chosen charities! So proud of these kids proving to their communities that they’re “NOT TOO LITTLE TO CHANGE THE WORLD!” See below for photos from each carnival!
