Team Kids Youth Council
What is the Youth Council?
At Team Kids we aren’t going to let a pandemic diminish opportunities for young people to make positive and powerful contributions to their community. Especially when our world needs young leaders engaged and empowered now more than ever. For this reason, we are so excited to launch our fully virtual Team Kids Youth Council! The Team Kids Youth Council, or TKYC, is a highly dedicated group of young people in middle/high school grades, who pledge to spend an entire year filling active community leadership roles, researching social issues, taking action to impact problems, and creating youth-driven service projects.
Last year, this group of 30 TKYC leaders completed over 1,200 hours of active service. Led by their own Youth Board of Directors, the TKYC meets twice a month to discuss the community issues they are most passionate about, then work collaboratively to design service projects to address chosen causes. Check out this video below on one of our favorite Summer Serve-A-Thons!
Key components:
– Youth Driven Projects
– Year Round Volunteerism
– Learn from Professionals in Social Impact
– Build Lifetime Friendships with Like-minded Peers
– Chance to Earn Presidential Youth Service Award
We can’t wait to meet our young leaders! Take a few minutes to complete the Google form below and answer a few questions and let us know why you’re excited about joining the Team Kid’s Youth Council.

TKYC Serv-A-Thon 2015: A Summer of Service
If you had a group of dedicated young people, a bus, and the funds to go up and down the state of California, could you change the way people see our nation’s youth?
Absolutely Yes! The TKYC won’t stop until we knock out hunger, homelessness, and the destruction of our environment. We will do everything we can to serve our inspiring Wounded Warriors, our amazing inner-city communities, and our life-changing educators!
This summer the TKYC embarked on their 5th annual Serv-a-Thon around San Diego County from August 1-4th, and now it’s time to start planning for the 2016 Serv-a-thon across the United States! The Youth Council is fundraising in order to make their summer of service happen. Some expenses of the Serv-a-Thon include lodging, food and transportation for 30+ teens going on the trip in addition to direct costs of the service projects themselves.
